Dr. Ismail Zayid was born in Beit Nuba, Palestine. After studying medicine in Jerusalem and London, then practicing in Amman, Dr. Zayid became Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University, Halifax from 1972 until his retirement in 1998. Dr. Zayid has lived the Palestinian conflict all of his life and witnessed the eviction and dispossession of his own people from their homeland. He has lectured and written extensively on this subject. His village of Beit Nuba in the West Bank was occupied during the Israeli war of aggression in 1967. Thereafter, it was dynamited and bulldozed to rubble along with the two nearby villages of Imwas and Yalu by the Israeli Army under the direct orders of Yitzhak Rabin. Today at the site of these villages stands the infamy known as “Canada Park,” built by the Jewish National Fund with Canadian tax-deductible dollars. Dr. Zayid is the author of two books: Palestine: A Stolen Heritage and Zionism: The Myth and Reality
Palestine Lives!
